I expect it will be somewhat of a testy conversation among the G7 officials,
Intentional policy choices by other countries have hollowed out America’s manufacturing sector and undermined our critical supply chains, putting our national and economic security at risk,
The message from colleagues is pretty clear is that a free and fair and a rules-based multilateral trading system, is a system in which we all win,
In the hallways, they’re going to talk about nothing but tariffs and the dollar,
If you’re looking for something to engender a just and lasting peace, oil sanctions are the place to look,
We need to go back to basics: the G7 has always played an important role on the macroeconomic level, and brought impetus to the global economy,
The G7 has always been at the heart of major global issues, and it's up to us to take up this challenge,
I think to deliver for the citizens that we represent, our mission is really about restoring stability and growth,
But at the same time, there's a lot we can achieve together,
No one expects this to be a big moment where the US declares that for G7 and other partners there will be a special regime that's more favorable,
We're also going to talk about what we're going to be doing in terms of reconstruction,
The G7 must work together to protect our workers and firms from China's unfair practices,
A possible metric for success is that the US wants to engage and negotiate a trade deal with these countries,
At the same time, as the largest single market in the world, we are determined to defend our interests,
Tariffs and uncertainties are a burden on our economy and therefore also on job security,
The trust, unity and cohesion that has bound the re-energized G7 of recent years is now gravely at risk,
I think it’s going to be awkward,
The big question facing the global economy is effectively a self-inflicted wound,
America First does not mean America alone,
I would expect that everyone would come and negotiate in good faith,
