I feel like it could have been done better. Some subplots should have been taken out. Maybe seeing more of him on trial or in jail or being analysed would have been interesting. I think a lot of the TikTok stuff and focus on Bronte/Louise was strange."
In the end, it all comes back to YOU [blood drop emoji]. S5 is now playing!"
Eventually, he'll just be some asshole I dated,
He taught me a lot about what it is to be a man by knowing what it is not. And I don't mean the obvious things like, 'Oh, don't murder. That's bad.' That's very clear."
That was vital to his identity. So vital that he creates the danger that he needs to protect people from. That is a really interesting phenomenon. That happens in smaller ways, in subtler ways. We are all, unfortunately, sometimes possessive, sometimes coercive, sometimes manipulative [and] jealous in relationships with the people we love the most."
I became a father while I was on this show. I only got married just before I took the role. So I've grown a lot and I've grown with Joe in a strange way,
You doesn’t condemn Joe. It celebrates him,
It’s trying to be prestige TV now, ... but we miss the crazy exes and glass boxes.”
Even Joe’s internal monologues sound like he’s over it,
The loneliness, oh my god. The loneliness... This is forever. It's unfair. Aren't we all just products of our environment? Hurt people hurt people."
Do you remember when you used to tell me there were no monsters in my room? You lied. It was you. You’re the monster.”
My punishment is worse than I imagined,
I’d rather watch you rot in prison,
Maybe we have a problem as a society. Maybe the problem isn’t me. Maybe it’s you."
The way this show plays with questions of how we reward bad people, that was a more playful question eight to 10 years ago,
It's a hard concept to keep reinventing, and a testament to the writers [that they do it],
One of the most fun things about this season is the Prince Charming aspect, that Joe is actually famous. All the other seasons, he's been really under the radar. That's how he is able to move from season to season and place to place, because of his anonymity. Now that he is well known in New York, social media is on him. That's something fun for us to explore."
I do think that the show is at its best in New York,
We always said that we would stop after five and [that], in a perfect world, we would bring Joe back home to New York. We loved the idea of things coming full circle for him. We're excited by the fact that Joe came home as such a different person than [who] we saw in Season 1. At the core of our final story for Joe is this dichotomy of the old and the new."
Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant,
