The death toll from flooding and landslides across Nepal surged to 193 after a weekend of relentless rainfall.
The disaster came just ahead of the country's biggest festival Dasain, which begins on Thursday, and roads were busier than usual as people returned home to celebrate with loved ones.
Deadly floods and landslides are common across South Asia during the monsoon season from June to September but experts say climate change is making them worse.
Many of the deaths were in the capital Kathmandu which got heavy rainfall and much of southern part of the city was flooded.
